在我们的身边有许多破坏环境的事情。如：一些工厂为了追求自己的经济利益，不顾环境，大量排出废气，而这些废气不仅能污染空气产生大量危害人类身体健康的酸，还能破坏地球的保护伞——臭氧层，形成酸雨，现在冬季大雾天气较多给人们的出行带来不便，易引发交通事故，而大雾天气往往是环境污染造成的空气质量太差形成的；一些工厂排放的污水，融入河流之中，使大量的水生物死亡，甚至造成饮用水的污染，直接威胁着人类的存亡。我亲眼看到过秦淮河上漂浮的死鱼，报纸、电视上报道的自来水中有杂物、异味等；还有人们随意乱扔垃圾，造成了不必要的污染；大量使用一次性的纸杯、一次性的碗筷、一次性的塑料袋，造成树木的不断砍伐，使我们的地球母亲失去了防风，固土的卫士——树木。白色污染日趋严重。
大家都知道，我国的西北地区严重缺水，土地干旱严重，庄稼得不到灌溉，连群众的吃水都成问题，而我们南方目前并不缺水，因此大家还没有节水的意识，水资源浪费严重，国家正在进行南水北调的大工程，一旦这个工程完全开通后，我们水资源充足的南方也可能出现缺水的困境。
在东北地区，一些人受利益的驱使捕杀动物来获得金钱，全然没有考虑到动物是我们人类的朋友，而杀灭动物的结果就是我们人类的灭亡，到时真的是"千山鸟飞绝，万径人踪灭"。
真不敢想象，我们如果再这样继续下去，这个世界将会是一幅怎样的惨景呢？地上寸草不生，天空尘沙弥漫，人类将要灭亡，到那时我们只能说，人类曾经属于过地球，但地球将永远不会再属于人类了。
